The Mind

Johan Herbart, born in Germany, investigated how the mind works in managing ideas and concepts. Given the life line time of human, over the volume of years, why does the mind not become increasingly overloaded or confused? He perceived how ideas exist for forever beyond the consciousness and they are incapable of being destroyed.  Moreover, the mind uses some kind of system in order to differentiate and store ideas.

At the same time, Gottfried Leibniz also began to explore the existence of ideas beyond the consciousness awareness. Leibniz called this type of perception as petite (small). Johan Herbart, evolved both these two ideas together believing in dynamic ideas. What this meant, ideas were first formulated as information then senses combine within to build to the connectivity and relationship. Vorsfellung was the term Herbett used for encompassing (1) thoughts, (2) emotional state and (3) mental images. These elements were dynamically interacting with each other. They would either replicate or merge like magnetic forces; what was also noted, gradually overtime, the associations weakens and the consciousness of the threshold decreases.
